crc_wph Posted May 3, 2002 Report Share Posted May 3, 2002 I use 2GB Jaz disks to back up, from a G4 server, databases totalling about 73 MB. The back-up machine is a PowerPC running 8.6. The Jaz disks used to last quite a while but now (after about 3 back-ups) when there is still 1.5 or 1.6 GB left in the disk according to Retrospect when preparing the media, I get the error 102 message & that Retrospect had trouble communicating & it requests a new disk for the set. If I look at Configure back-up sets it says there is 342 M on Disk 1 of the set, yet it required another disk. I have 2 separate sets and it happens on both of them. I tried reformatting the disks but it doesn't seem to have helped. I back up lots of machines using my G4 and the back-up sets use the whole 2GB (approx) of the Jaz.
