JMSTP
I have two different G4 machines running OS 9.0.4 w/ ASIP 6.3.1. A LaCie AIT 35/70 Firewire drive is attached. Retrospect is at v4.3C with the latest firewire/usb extensions. Retrospect does not automatically recognise a tape change unless the 'Devices' window is open. If I change a tape and then open the 'Devices' window, it's still the old tape. When I hit eject, the status does not display 'Busy' while the tape rewinds and ejects, but when the same tape is re-inserted, the appropriate statuses and correct tape name are then displayed. This affects the backup script as it will time-out waiting for the media.
Guest
For backup scripts, Retrospect should search the loader for the appropriate media if needed. Does this not happen? What version of the RDU do you have? Do you have the ADK loading as well? What is the mechanism of the drive (from the Device Status window)?
