johnflip Posted January 27, 2005 Report Share Posted January 27, 2005 Hi, have a customer using an older (grey) G3, Retrospect 5.x and a CD drive for 'backup. The proceedure has been to take finished jobs and the backing them up to CD's like an ordinairy backup. They have 200+ CD's However, the 'antique' mac broke down (harddisk crash) and the catalog has been lost. Trying a restor from the CD's revealed that some CD's have become defect over time - among them the crucial CD 1... Anybody out there has a way to circumvent the 'normal' catalogue rebuild from media - so that whatever is preserved on the CD's can be used again ?
