maaki
I have my old 8500/G3, running Mac OS 9.1, set up as a Retrospect Backup Server, scheduled to run nightly to back up a B&W G3 running Panther. The backup was working fine for several days, and then simply stopped backing up after Nov 27. No error is listed in the log, (a segment copied below here). 11/27/2004 10:11:37 AM: Execution completed successfully. Total performance: 17.2 MB/minute with 0% compression Total duration: 00:29:56 (00:21:56 idle/loading/preparing) - 11/28/2004 8:16 AM: Backup Server stopped Quit at 11/28/2004 7:17 PM ? Retrospect version 5.1.177 automatically launched at 11/29/2004 3:00 AM + Retrospect Driver Update, version 4.3.103 + 11/29/2004 3:00 AM: Backup Server started - 12/2/2004 1:25 PM: Backup Server stopped Quit at 12/2/2004 1:25 PM The B&W was probably left running on my assistant's account when Retrospect was supposed to back it up, with my Admin account probably logged out. Do I have to leave my Admin account logged in for Retrospect to see the client? (The B&W is set never to sleep the HD). I discovered that Retrospect Client won't launch from my assistant's account on the B&W. Also, in my Admin account on the B&W, the Retrospect Client icon is a red cube. On my assistant's account it has a generic icon, with no version number listed in Get Info. I repaired permissions, but it didn't change anything.
