  1. Hi, I wonder if there is a backup strategy for dealing with the contents of these folders: System Volume Information (I asssume these are restore points) of which I have 140gig's worth. I have Windows Backup also running that has created a folder of 41gig Also wondering about .vhd files - it reports there is a 118GB file - but I cannot see it in windows I am trying to back up a 387gig D drive to a USB 465gig HD - so there should be plenty of room - but it always fails, reporting out of space !. I have Single Server V7.6.123 running on Windows 7 SP1. I can go into Disk Management and attach the VHD file, which reports is 273gig in size - could this be the culprit. Should I exlude these folders on the backup, and create specific scripts that recycle each time the backup is run - as it appears old images are being backed up - which are unecessary. Any pointers on how to deal with this situation would be very helpful.
  2. Hi I am getting: Can't export backup report to location C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect\: error -1020 (sharing violation) I have setup Prerferences/Security/Always run Retrospect as specified user And entered details for Admin, but still getting above error. I am logged into XP workstation as admin, running single server v7.5.387 Hope someone can help thanks.
  3. Hi I have Single Server Version 7.5 I have a removable HD which is used as the destination for a backups data. Once the first back up has been performed I wish to remove the HD and store it in a safe. For further backups to this storageset, can I then change the destination to one of the permanent HD on my PC, this would allow me to have a daily backup, saving me fitting the HD from the PC everytime I wish to back up. If then say each week want to attach the removable HD and add a backup to it how would I set that up too. If I needed to restore and some of a storage sets data is on the removable HD and some on my PC's HD, would it know where it was? I understand if I wish to overwrite each days backup how would I setup Retrospect for that. Another issue - I've noticed on the log I'm getting: Can't export backup report to location C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect\: error -1020 (sharing violation) I have searched and found directions regarding windows firewall and XP's SP2 - but all those settings look fine in my firewall. not sure if this has any influence I moved my storage set after the first backup. Many Thanks
