  1. We need to backup a Terrablock MUW (Multi User Write) volume with Retrospect. Such volumes are introduced to the system as network drives, but in a way where they cannot be connected to, like any other AFP, or SMB shares. These volumes show under /Volumes, just like any other mounted volumes. Problem: Retrospect does not allow direct access to directories under /Volumes. If we select the local OS volume as a source, and browse, nothing gets listed under /Volumes. If we could define the Terrablock volume as a Favorite source, that would have fixed our problem. Thank you for reading.
  2. Version 9 simply was not functioning as well as 8 when it was first released.
  3. Hey guys, Few months back we upgraded from 8 to 9, but had to downgrade, because we lost functionality of retrospect. Would you say that version 9 for Mac is now ready? Is it now better than version 8? Thanks for responding.
  4. What I did in order to keep the business running, was downgrading to 8. Decided to check again when a new 9 build is released.
  5. Any news with that particular crash? If there are any logs you need to look at, just ask. Thanks
  6. Just to make it clear. Engine 9 was on XServe running OS X 10.6.8 Server 64bit client runs on a G4 XServer with 10.3 server. That works fine with engine 8. Where would I find the assert log?
  7. During copying from a client on server 10.3 to a volume local to the engine, this is what happens: Copying Closing Duplicating state information Crash After the crash, noticed that the config80.bak was smaller than the config80.dat before the next attempt I removed the .bak file. On the next attempt the .bak file was not created. (Recently updated from 8 to 9) I figured maybe ver 8 config files did not migrate well, so I removed the folder from Application Support, uninstalled retrospect, and re-installed 9. Same result when copying from the 6.3.029 client on the 10.3 server. Had to get some work done, so downgraded to version 8, and all is well again. I could clone from a client to a volume on the server.
