Retrospect v9 asked for new media. Media had 1.1TB available

Members have not been set nor have they been modified after creating them. Somehow, the member max'ed out at 2.5 TB which does not make sense. The second member created (unknown whether someone clicked on something when it was asking for new media) did not show in the Members until I found and chose it. Even now we still get the following, which is a bogus instruction as it does not jibe with Retrospect v9.0.2 (no "Tools" menu, repair catalog or update catalog file): Date: 12/18/2012 !Catalog File out of sync with Backup Set "InternalRAID". To repair it, use Tools>Repair Catalog>Update existing Catalog File. Then: From Retrospect: Script "Daily Workstation Backup" failed during automatic execution, Catalog File out of sync with Backup Set. Please launch Retrospect and check the log for details.

I see you can set the "member" capacity, but not the Media Set. In this case, the member(s) is set to 100% or 3725GB

And how do I then deal with the new member?

How is that done? Mac version 9.0.2
  5. We have a client who has a 4TB RAID in which their media set resides. After the member reached 2.5TB, it asked fo rnew media, created a "2-" member but did not add it to the member list. Why would the software ask for new media when there was plenty of space? And, is it ok to moved forward and add that new member that resides on the same media (the "2-" named member)? Plus, the log gives a instruction that is not accurate for this version of the software when an error occured: "To repair it, use Tools>Repair Catalog>Update existing Catalog File." No "Tools" menu in v9, no "repair catalog", etc.

    Email Notifications - Proactive script

I have a Proactive script set up for user backups. Each user is having 3-4 specific folders backed up. Is there any way to get Retrospect v9 to not send a notification of a completed backup for each and every folder being backed up in the script? Makes sense for the program to send one notification when everyone specified is the script has been backed up in a period. One email message indicating what was backed up and issues. My client hates getting 40-45 emails each day, especially when all it says is that the script has completed successfully, no specifics on which client or folder was backed up. I temporarily set it to send email only on error. At least that states specifics on what user or folder has not been backed up. The reason I chose Proactive backup for desktops was it resolves PITON error issues that is a major issue with Retrospect.

    Suddenly backing up all data

This would not be as much of an issue if the servers were not in two locations and backing up over the network (P-to-P VPN Tunnel). You can imagine how long it is going to take to back up 1.1TB. We initially backed up the server locally, then brought the drives to the other location and configured the backups, we are doingthe same to the other server so that the servers back up each other. It had been running fine until 8/1

    Suddenly backing up all data

Retrospect 9 running on a 10.7 Server. Same Media, Normal backup, source is another 10.7 server, volume being backed u is a RAID created on said server. Backing up to external USB drives. I stopped the backup and started it again. Now it appears to be doing a complete (all 1.1TB) backup, like its recycling or something.

    Suddenly backing up all data

For some reason, Retrospect has forgotten what has been backed up and is backing up everything (or most everything) again. Log stated that on 7/31, backup completed with 1,411 files totally 4.9GB. Then on 8/1 it felt it needed to backup 700+GB of data when there was no data change on the server. Why is it not remembering what was backed up? Recycling has not been configured.

Can Retrospect 8 run multiple scripts if the destinations are different? We have an issue where scripts get put in the cue due to a need for new media for another script or any other issue that would impede the progress. Thank in advance
