    Issues recovering 6.1 Backups

Hi Russ. Thanks for your prompt reply. Just been to the customer this morning, and all fixed! Stopping the Retrospect8 Engine did the trick! Cheers. Glenn.

    Issues recovering 6.1 Backups

Also, I know this is the Retrospect 8 forum, I just thought maybe it is an issue with having 8 & 6.1 installed on the same machine (version 8 was installed first by the way).
  3. Hi all. We have just sold my client Retrospect 8, installed on a Mac Pro, and that is all working fine. However they have some legacy tapes made elsewhere with version 6.1 that they need to read. (They have the catalog files included on CDs). We have installed a copy of 6.1 (latest version) on their Mac Pro, and can read the catalogs from the CD, but ver 6.1 doesn't see the HP 1760 SAS drive (it connects via an ATTO H380 SAS HBA). It only sees the DVD drive and shows SCSI 0,0 when we do a rescan but no tape drive. Any ideas?

    Retrospect 8 Engine won't start

OK, so do I delete the config file & start from fresh? I did uninstall & reinstall earlier to no effect. What process should I follow to ensure corrupt files are also removed before reinstalling? Also, will removing these config files destroy any previous back-ups that have been done? Cheers.

    Retrospect 8 Engine won't start

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm hopingto get a Console log from the customer today & will report back. I will also try the Terminal suggestion if I don't have any success. Maser, rebooting didnt solve the problem in my case, thanks for letting me know i'm not the only one thats had this problem!
  8. Hi. I have installed version 8 on a 2009 model Mac Pro. We have successfully performed a back-up to an HP Ultrium 1760 tape drive. Now the Retrospect Engine won't start. When I click on the start button in the Engine Application in System Preferences (inputting 127.0.0.1 & admin password as we have the console & engine on the same machine) nothing happens. It stills says the engine is stopped. In the console I get 127.0.0.1 & the lightning bolt on the left, with Not Connected displayed on the right. I have updated both console & engine to version 8.1.526 but the problem persists. Any ideas? Cheers!
