    Retrospect 11.5 autolaunch

ok I got it to work. Found a thread titled Retrospect not starting automatically for scheduled backups. Looks like the key was to have secondary launcher running and leave retrospect to run as logged in user and change the user on the retrospect launcher service. I also have UAC off. Ah the joys of Windows updates....

That is what I was point to in the second paragraph. I just test that and no joy. If I launch retrospect myself it runs the script so I know the schedule is there.

    Retrospect 11.5 autolaunch

Hi all, I have a windows 10 box that just updated to the 1607 build. I also recently updated to 11.5. For some reason, the autolaunch feature is now broke. I have done the disable + reboot and re-enable + reboot. Retrospect is set to run as a specific account (to fix a problem with access network shares). and I have turned off UAC for that account. (These were the main items I saw in the forum posting and a google search.) I did notice that the launcher is running as the local system account. Perhaps that is the problem I will tweak that and test in a moment. Anyone else seen autolaunch issues with 11.5 or Windows 10 1607 build?

    NAS Access permisions

I am not sure what I did but, this one seems to have solved itself. Now on to see if I can debug the schedule launch problem.

    NAS Access permisions

I just upgraded from Retrospect Pro 7.7 to Pro 8 Most stuff seems to work with one exception. I have a QNAP NAS with multiple folders shared. Retrospect 8 access all but one of the folders. I am running Retrospect under a specific account inperferences > Security (this account has access to the share) I have reset the logon for the launcher and helper service I deleted the problematid folder from the "My Network Places" in the volume list. I am not able to add it back. When I try I get a pop up screen asking for a user ID and Password. Thinking it might be permissions related on the NAS I added the "everyone" account to that folder and still not able to get it accesses. When I am trying to add the folder I see all the other folders on the NAS with correct total size info, except this one folder that is not happy. I am out of ideas of what to try. Looking for other inspiration. Thanks

    Windows 7 Auto Lauch Problem

I found this on the old fourm. It solved the problem (by chaning to run as logged in user.) I am a bit puzzled why it ran with the other setting on the old computer. http://forums.dantz.com/showtopic.php?tid/32600
  7. I had to move my retrospect 7.7 from a failed server to a new one. I moved the config file over so Retrospect kept all my scheduled, client configs, etc. However, it lost its ability to automaticaly launch itself. I updated the security preferences with the new computer name. Any other ideas on what I need to change? Thanks.

Backup does not comply with private file settings

Notes in client 7.6.107 say this is fixed. I have it installed and am testing it now. The private files no longer show up in preview so I think we are in great shape. Jeff

Robin if the change is made what files do not get backed up?

Backup does not comply with private file settings

Is there a next step? If I wanted to uninstall and reinstall the server. is there a way to keep my scheduled jobs, custom selectors and backup sets/ catalogs? or is it a start from scratch exercies? Thanks Jeff

Backup does not comply with private file settings

Procedure followed Remove client Forget client (server) Download client (just to be sure) reboot client install client (using setup.exe) add client (on server) Add file to private list (the files were listed so I guess the uninstall did not clear the registry) Browse on the server Results I still see the files and can get properties. I looked at another of my clients with vista ultimate, same problem. What can we try next?

Backup does not comply with private file settings

I will give that a try tonight. However, when I had 7.5 running this was a problem on two clients. Should I forget then re add the client or forget it then uninstall/reinstall the clinet? Are there serer side options that can cause this?

Backup does not comply with private file settings

My user account is the only one on the client and it has admin permissions. The Retrospect Client servcies is running as "Local System" on the client. Server screen shot attaches showing the properties of one of the "private" files.
