    exchange 2007 mailbox backup

I havent tried either of those methods. I will give the re-licensing a whirl and will then try the proactive backup if that doesnt work.

    exchange 2007 mailbox backup

Hi Robin, any ideas re the above. Is it worth me trying an earlier version?
  3. Many Thanks for this Robin.
  4. so if the original exchange server is dead I can restore the data back to a newly built exchange servers mailboxes? I probably didnt word the original question properly. If the small business server dies, what are my reovery options? In the absence of the server I obviously cant recover to a recovery storage group, are you saying that I can restore mailbox data to mailboxes on a different exchange server?
  5. Hi Is it possible to restore priv and pub files to a folder to use 3rd party tools to query the data. The reason I ask is that we backup a small business server, in the event of the hardware failing etc and therefore not having a recovery storage group to restore to we would end up using Ontrack or something to query the databases and extract the data to pst. I know we can do mailbox backups and we are doing that too, but I would like to know if the above is possible. Thanks Darren

    disk-to-disk-to-tape

Many thanks, sorry should have searched the kb for that myself.
  7. Hi Apologies for the newbie question. We currently run 2 backup scripts, one backs up to disk and then a few hours later another script backs up the same data to tape. Is there any way to fine tune this so that we can back up to tape and then to disk with the same script, if this is covered in documentation could someone provide me a link to a kb article pls. Thanks Darren

    exchange 2007 mailbox backup

It says on each mailbox: - 11/07/2008 20:24:49: Copying 'mailbox name' 11/07/2008 20:24:49: No files need to be copied 11/07/2008 20:24:51: Execution completed successfully Duration: 00:00:01 (00:00:01 idle/loading/preparing) And just to show output on a mailbox that was selected and backed up on its own: - 11/07/2008 20:25:40: Copying 'Mailbox name' 11/07/2008 20:30:06: Snapshot stored, 4,446 KB 11/07/2008 20:30:17: Execution completed successfully Completed: 7529 files, 852.7 MB Performance: 219.5 MB/minute Duration: 00:04:37 (00:00:43 idle/loading/preparing)

    exchange 2007 mailbox backup

7.6.111 is the version we are using. I have tried selecting the source as 'Exchange Mailboxes' and have also selected each individual mailbox one by one (30 selected in all). I have tried this with retrospect installed directly on the 2k7 server where the exchange volume sources are local.
  10. Hi I am using the latest version of retrospect and can authenticate with my rbu user account and see all my mailboxes etc. Backing up storage groups is no problem either. When I select my mailboxes to backup (all of them) the backup finishes in about 2 minutes, no errors, but no data is backed up. When I run a test backup and select just one mailbox, I have no problems and the mailbox backs up fine. Anyone seen this before, suggestions? Thanks Darren
  11. Hi I had the same problem and had to use the shell management to give permissions for the user account I wanted to use to backup the mailboxes, have a look here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/556045
  12. We are having the same issue and I am reluctant to roll back to 387 because the functionality to restore the store to a recovery storage group was only added in 7.5.508. Has anyone had any further problems with 7.5.512, is this due for release soon?
