  1. Only one person has contacted support about this issue in 2 years, but they have requested I update this post. If you change the number of execution units, make sure you tab out of the filed or hit enter. This will save the changes. This issue was fixed a long time ago. I am closing this thread. If anyone is concerned about this specific issue, please create a new thread.
  2. I am sure 18.5.3 will work, but we officially added support in Retrospect 19.2
  3. Details on the changes in the new version are at: https://www.retrospect.com/en/documentation/user_guide/win/release_notes https://www.retrospect.com/en/documentation/user_guide/mac/release_notes
  4. Retrospect is absolutely going to be around. The product is being developed, sold and supported by the same people that have been working on the product for 20+ years. Almost 30 years in my case. The reseller network is still the same and still processing orders the same way it always has. We have been releasing new versions and have a new version probably coming out later this month. If you have any concerns, you can always call us and we will answer your questions. You can also email us, as always.
  5. We have released a bug fix version of Retrospect. You can download at http://www.retrospect.com/updates.
  6. Backups created with version 5 would require version 6.1 running on Mac OS 10.5.8 and earlier. If you have that OS available, you can email support for a version 6 license code.
  7. This happens if you have the Defer button pushed to the left of "stay in Retrospect" at the top of the screen. If the icon is flashing, you have Deferred all operations.
  8. My name is David Mueller and I am the new CEO of Retrospect – the backup and recovery software solution successfully relied upon by thousands of customers for over 30 years. I am writing to provide you with an update of several positive changes that have recently taken place. Firstly, Retrospect has recently undergone a significant restructuring in connection with its former parent company and is now under the ownership of Serene Investment Management based in Berkeley, California, USA. I want to express my enthusiasm and optimism as we embark on this new chapter and provide you with an update on our current operations, as well as our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional backup and recovery software solutions. Following the restructuring, I am thrilled to report that we have assembled a team of experienced technology executives who will lead Retrospect towards immediate growth and success. Members of Retrospect’s talented and tenured Engineering, Sales and Support team have also been retained to preserve vital institutional knowledge and to ensure business continuity. With new leadership in place, we remain fully committed to serving our partners, value-added resellers (VARs), and above all, our end-users. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our vibrant community of users, who have shown unwavering support for Retrospect within their communities, online, and across various platforms. We hear your feedback, and we are determined to reciprocate your enthusiasm by delivering excellence in all our endeavors moving forward. A notable outcome of the recent restructuring is that Retrospect has secured the necessary funding to foster its growth and solidify its position as a global leader in the backup and recovery software industry. Our undivided attention is now focused on continuous innovation, improvement, and the delivery of Retrospect’s flagship backup solutions, including the recent Version 19 release, which boasts key features such as: S3-compatible object storage OS compliance monitoring Anomaly detection 2 Factor Authentication, and Enhanced Immutable Retention policies. In the upcoming weeks and months, we have an array of product updates planned to further enhance and streamline our offerings. We are diligently working on future products, website upgrades, and other innovative tools to support your backup and recovery needs. Also, we plan to host a VAR workshop and Q&A in the coming weeks to introduce the new management team and discuss future plans. I am tremendously excited about Retrospect’s future under the guidance of our new management team and our renewed focus. Above all, I eagerly anticipate the continued growth and enduring relationship we share with each and every one of you. Yours sincerely, David Mueller CEO – Retrospect Questions? If you require assistance in determining whether your license requirements are up-to-date or wish to upgrade to the latest Version 19 release, we encourage you to visit the Upgrade Wizard on our website here or reach out to our sales team at sales@retrospect.com for guidance. For any questions or concerns you may have about Retrospect, our support team is readily available at support@retrospect.com.
  9. Just a heads up that Tech Support will be closed July 3rd and July 4th for the holiday weekend. Support will open again on July 5th.
  10. Event ID 1 is not an actual failure of any kind. It can be ignored.
  11. A few articles have come out that talk about the StorCentric chapter 7 bankruptcy. Retrospect is under a new parent company. Customers for Retrospect are fully supported, and our website, distributors and resellers are actively selling Retrospect 19.1. Our engineering team is looking into new and exciting features for future versions of Retrospect. Support can always be reached at support@retrospect.com.
  12. This is a feature already. You can export a csv file that shows the tape name for every file in the snapshot. Feature has been available since version 17. It's called Restore Preflight. Export is found in configure>backup sets>snapshots
  13. Retrospect 19 is basically done at this point. We have been in beta for several weeks. We are working on final documentation and should be doing a release in a week or two, the last I checked.
  14. Yes, 18.5.3 fully supports Ventura: https://www.retrospect.com/en/documentation/user_guide/mac/release_notes We are still wrapping up things on version 19
