  1. 1. I don't know if this is the correct forum. I'm running Retrospect Desktop ver. 9.5.2.103. Please let me know if it's not. 2. My hard drive got corrupted. The hard drive is fine now. Retrospect isn't. I have lots of *.rbf files in a recovered folder in Win7. I have some *.rbc files in a folder that is correct for the Retrospect Catalog files. When I open Retrospect how can I figure out where Retrospect expects the *rbf files to be? I can't figure out how to see the folder they should be stored in. After I put the *.rbf files into the correct folder I'm guessing I need to rebuild the catalogs. How do I do that? Please list the steps I need to take to get Retrospect back up and running correctly. Thank you, Docfxit
  2. How can I recreate the catalog file from the members of the Media Set when there is nothing backed up yet? Thank you, Docfxit

  4. Does a scheduled backup occur if the server window is closed? I have a client that isn't getting backed up according to the schedule. The error I'm getting via email is: From Retrospect: Script "JimLTT530 C:" failed during automatic execution, error -519 ( network communication failed). Please launch Retrospect and check the log for details. Thank you, Docfxit
  5. I have a backup set. When I select properties it asks me where the catalog file is. When I point it to the "Retrospect Catalog Files" it gives me an error saying "File not found" What can I do to fix it? Thank you, Docfxit
  6. Thank you for the reply... Is this error: error -592 ( invalid response from SMTP server). Coming from the client or the server. When I run the email test on the server the email does get sent and it does get received just fine. Thank you, Docfxit

  13. I would like to know if I have clients on remote computers and they have a hard drive crash. To restore the entire hard drive I would like to find out what files to bring to the remote computer to restore it fully to a new hard drive. Of course I know I need the recovery CD. Thanks, Docfxit
  14. Quote: Retrospect uses port 497 TCP and UDP, not 447. Russ Thanks for the reply... Sorry I meant 497
  15. When trying to backup a PC on the LAN Retrospect keeps saying Retrying. The log says: Scanning incomplete, error -519 (network communication failed) Can't access volume E (E:) on JIM2, error -519 (network communication failed) 5/31/2007 2:50:21 PM: Execution incomplete Total performance: 387.4 MB/minute with 11% compression Total duration: 03:48:28 (02:34:29 idle/loading/preparing) Location of backup report is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect\Backup Report.utx. I have port 497 TCP & UDP open on both PC's. Running XP Pro sp2 on the Retrospect PC Running XP Pro sp1 on the Client PC I have the user on each PC with a password also on the other PC with the same password. I have the XP firewall on both machines turned off. I have ZoneAlarm Pro on both PC's. What can I do to fix this? Thank you, Docfxit
