  1. Hi everyone, Thanks for your responses, much appreciated. Sorry its been a few days in replying. Our system: OSX 10.6.8 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB Ram. This is a stand-alone machine, that we use purely for backup, and maybe a bit of scanning. But nothing else. From what I can make out, these specs seem to fall within Retrospect's requirements, however, I am going to update to Mavericks, and probably increase the RAM to 8GB, just for the hell of it. I have had a look for a pref file, but the only thing I can find is the .prefPane, which is within System Preferences, so I'm not sure I can dump that. regards David
  2. Mac 10.6.8 Hi everyone, I have upgraded to v11, and then to v11.01. It just hangs on every mouse click/operation. Activity monitor shows 100% cpu usage. What is going on here. In all my years using all sorts of Mac software, Retrospect seems by far the worse. I would love to chuck it out, and try some other backup software, but that would mean starting all over again, which I can't do. Does anyone have any suggestions? Retrospect, pull you sock up!
  3. Thanks Maser for your reply. Yes, you are right about the bug. I have been in contact with them about this issue, and amazingly, within the hour, they replayed, acknowledging the problem, and offering me a download for a pre-release version 9.0.0.366. This has worked perfectly, and now Retrospect is behaving as it should. regards David
  4. Retrospect 9 MacBook Pro 2GHz Intel Core Due 1GB Ram OSX 10.5.8 Hi all, I used to run Retrospect 6 on an old Mac Quadra with a DAT drive and 5 clients, and it was never a problem, it just worked. But 2 years ago, we updated to Retrospect 8 on a MacBook Pro 2GHz Intel Core Due, a Drobo and the same 5 clients, everything still seemed OK. However, as I have now updated Retrospect to v9, its not OK. Backups themselves seem to be working fine, but if I want to restore anything, then I'm in trouble. Retrospect goes so slowly, takes an age to bring up the info I'm looking for and more often than not, falls over all-together (spinning wheel of death). Has anyone else experienced similar issues, and do you have any pearls of wisdom for me? Is the MacBookPro too old/slow or the OS too old? Please help me, I'm desperate here! regards David PS. I hate Retrospect, its enough to drive a man to drink!
  5. Hi Lennart, Thanks for your response. I don't think its a display glitch. If I try to run a script, I get the same thing with the selected Media Set. See screen shot. Yes, I have totally restarted both the Mac/Retrospect and the Drobo. David
  6. Hi all, I hope someone can help me here. I am running Retrospect 8.2 on a MacBook Pro, with a Drobo, which has worked seamlessly for the past 2 years. Having just returned from a 2 week break, I find that it is not backing up anything at all, and it has no members in the Media Set (Status. No Members – Grey Blob) See screen shot. Can anyone shed any light on why they have disappeared, and more importantly, how do I get them back. I have to say, I don't find Retrospect as easy to fathom as earlier versions, or maybe thats just me. Thanks in anticipation. David Bell
