  1. I think I found the solution: go to /Library/Application Support/Retrospect and manual delete the Engine. Anyway I cannot find the "uninstall Retrospect" icon as suggested in the Mac User's Guide, I suspect it's an older version setup.
  2. Thanks Lennart. Citing your reference: One doubt: I do not have a "Retrospect application folder". In the Applications folder I can see just the Retrospect app, therefore where do I look for the Uninstall Retrospect icon ? Am I missing something ??
  3. Seems a trivial question, but I installed the Retrospect Engine for error on a client machine, how do I safely uninstall the Retrospect Engine ? Naively I tried to delete the Retrospect app in the Application folder, but I keep on seeing the Retrospect Engine icon in the Preference panel.
  4. Just to be clear, I have only one Retrospect Server running, on the Server Mac.
  5. Nigel, that's not a typo. Anyway I tried also to Ping *from* the Console to the Server, and yes, the port 22024 is open.
  6. Hello David & Nigel, thanks for your advices. I'm running with Mac OS 10.14.5 on console and 10.11.6 on server: they were updated time ago, before this problem happened, therefore I doubt they can cause any problem. @Nigel: 1. OK the server is running (on the server Mac, as I'm running the console from a client machine). 2. OK Engine's port is open 3. OK Ping works, the console can reach the server. Port 22024 is open on console Mac. I restarted the Retro Engine, but the console on the client machine still doesn't connect neither add anew the server. I'm going to double check the password for the Retro server. I'll try to access server from another machine to test if the problem is machine-related or not.
  7. If I knew... Apparently nothing has been changed.
  8. David, thanks for your answer. I haven't changed recently the server's IP address, and trying to add a new server doesn't work either, Retrospect console hangs forever. As shown in IP Scanner's window, the server machine is up and running, and reachable by the Mac Finder. Working with Retrospect 15.6
  9. In the last days I'm experiencing this problem. Starting Retrospect console, I can't no longer connect to the server. The Retrospect server machine is up and running, I can see it on the ethernet network, so what is wrong ? I already rebooted the Macs, but nothing changes. Any idea ? Thanks

  11. Seems like my Media Set (the backup destination file) is no longer reachable. The file is stored on a networked HD, the file is there, but in Retrospect this Media Set hasn't the "green light semaphore" and in the information panel it is described as "Status: no element". I tried to Verify, Repair and Rebuild this Media Set without success, it is not reachable. Any suggestion ? Retrospect Mac 12, Mac OS 10.11
  12. Is it possible to remotely control Retrospect Engine on a server Mac thru Terminal / ssh? I'm running Mac Retrospect 12, that as for now, has a bug the prevents client Mac to use Retrospect own remote control of the Engine. I could simply use Apple's Remote Desktop to access the server Engine, but it is usually in use by a colleague, therefore I cannot (it's not really nice :-) ) take control of the serve thru Remote Desktop while he's working on the server at the same time. I'd like to remote control Retrospect Engine thru Terminal. Is it possible / feasible?
