SDX-300c will not work under 10.2

Recommended Posts

I recently upgraded our backup machine from 9.2.2 to OS 10.2, and now our Sony SDX-300C AIT drive will not work. It does not show up under "devices" but, when I click "device status" it does show up.

here is my config:

Retrospect Version and build = 5.0.205

Computer Model and speed = Beige G3 333Mhz, 512MB Ram

OS X version and build = 10.2.1

Device (from Retrospect's Configure > Devices > Device Status window) = SDX-300C

Device firmware (in the version column of the Device Status window) = 0300

Device interface = scsi

Media brand and size = Sony AIT 25GB

Other Devices - 2 scsi hard drives

Adapter Card = ATTO ExpressPCI PSC (EPIC-PSC -000)

Adapter Card firmware - Rom# 1.6.6f0 (revision 4)

Adapter Card driver for OS X - ATTOExpressPCI.kext (v1.1.0)

any help???

  • 6 months later...

I have exactly the same problem but with Workgroup? Nothing in Storage devices but in device status I have

ID Vendor Product Version Driver

SCSI-A:1 SONY SDX-300C 0400 SCSI

I've update to latest drivers for the SCSI card one Adaptec PowerDomain 29160N as well as all the updates from Retrospect.

Any ideas would be much appreciated confused.gif

Oops wrong card. Actually I have a very similiar setup to the original poster

ExpressPCI UL2D (Dual Channel Ultra2 SCSI)

My adaptec card appears to be in there just for fun?

And even more bizzarely if I dont have the 29160N card in then nothing appears in retrospect even in the device status list.!

It should load every time. Look at the very bottom of the log, just after you run Retrospect. Does it say something like:

? Retrospect Express version 5.0.238

launch at 28/3/2003 7:24 AM

+ Retrospect Driver Update, version 3.4.103

If that last line is there it's OK, if not, look in the Retrospect folder to see that the RDU is still there.

Sorry took so long to respond been vbusy. CHeers for helping by the way.

I have in system profiler the fllowing

under Bus I have

CD and IDE HD's

then

IOSCSIParallelDevice

Product Name SDX-300C

SCSI Target 3

Product Revision 0400

SCSI Lun

Product Indent. SDX-300C

Device Type 1

Vendor Ident. SONY

connected to the same card physically but in a non connected box in profiler is my system HD which has the SAME Lun (Bad?) but a different target. the superfluous SCSI card has been removed. Checked the troubleshooter, both wide card and device. changed the target (which I assume is ID otherwise my issue must be the LUN thing and I have no idea how to change that and can't remove my system HD which the device shares SCSI with)

As for the driver thing they definately only loaded once and don't come up in the logs anymore here is a sample from my log

The Retrospect Driver Update is not loading. Throw away the old driver update from the Retrospect application folder while Retrospect is quit. Your copy may be corrupt.

Download and install a new driver update from:
