henrikberglund Posted January 31, 2007 Report Share Posted January 31, 2007 Hi, When trying my first backup with the wd mybook and retrospect expess, several thousand files seems to have been backed up ok, but during the check phase the sw reports one error, "108_0883.JPG": didn't compare". What does this mean? How can I troubleshoot/fix this? I already tried plugging the usb directly in the computer instead of using a hub. I also tried copying and renaming the problem file. When running again the problem seems to be the same. sowen222 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Share Posted March 16, 2007 I have the same issue, also with a couple of JPGs. Funny thing is, I had this problem once way back with version 5.6. Until EMC fixes the problem: - You can put your mind at ease that it's backing up the file properly by restoring it, and checking it against the original. - You can avoid the error by changing verification from "Thorough" to "Media" (MD5).
