Ravilious
Can anyone help. I've just returned to using retrospect after a few years absence. I installed and used the demo version of retrospect successfully backing up a number of sources to a NAS drive. A month or so later I purchase retrospect 12 and its been a nightmare since. There have been one or two issues but the problems come at the end of a apparently successful backup when the "updating catalogue" dialogue appears. At this point the system freezes. Its impossible to exit retrospect. Any dialogue within ctr+alt+delete programme/services or otherwise will not terminate retrospect. The only way to recover is a hard boot of the computer. The operations log says nothing relating to a problem at this point. Can any enlightened soul tell me what might be going on?? PS Its seems impossible to do a complete uninstall of retrospect. in that it seems to remember license and backup history on reinstall? Thanks a lot Stephen
mbennett
Stephen123, You need to contact Retrospect support and get them on this. Retrospect can create much more detailed logs than you see in the defaults, and they'll tell you how to jack up the log level. I would do that instead on uninstalling. However, if you're determined to uninstall, download the Revo Uninstaller and launch it. The free version will do. Start the uninstallation process from within Revo and after the standard Retrospect uninstallation program has completed, Revo will present you with lists of left over files and registry entries. I would not do that myself in this situation. I would email support now with as many details as you can give them.
