boy412
I help manage a small workgroup of four Mac clients and a Retrospect server (v12.5.0.111). They back up daily to a pair of external HD's. One of the "sources" got removed and re-added on the server and now Retrospect is treating that system as if it were new. There is not enough space on the backup set to capture a complete, new backup. So my question is...short of doing a recycle on the backup media is there a way to purge the old backup data for just that source?
Lennart_T
There must be something else that changed on the source. Perhaps an OS upgrade (not just an update)? If not, what matching settings do you have? Anyway, there is no way to remove the backups of the original source. It is possible in the Windows version and has been so for years. The lack of that feature is a major flaw in the Mac version. What you can do is buy a new external HDD and transfer/copy the backups from the other sources. If you don't want to buy a new HDD, maybe you can borrow one for a day or so. Transfer/copy the backups of the other sources to the borrowed drive. Then transfer/copy all those backups to the original drive.
