pupton
Hello I'm using v8.2 on 10.6.8. Whilst trying to restore, I select the data I want but am not given the tape where it is contained, the restore just sits waiting indefinitely. What are my options? Thank you Paul
Lennart_T
Insert the tapes in number order (for that media set) should do it. There is "always" one file from each tape. (I don't use tapes on the Retrospect version, so I don't know where to look for that information)
pupton
Hi Lennart Thank you for your reply. It appears to be any file, though I will check, also there are 42 members! Regards Paul
Lennart_T
Ouch. Why so many members? If you lose only one, then a bare metal restore may be impossible. What kind of tapes are they? Perhaps you should get a new tape drive that can take higher capacity tapes? With 42 members, I can understand why you want to know which tape to insert. twickland
Whilst trying to restore, I select the data I want but am not given the tape where it is contained. If you go to Activities> Running and highlight your restore, you will see a "Needs media" icon in the summary pane. (If this pane is not visible, click on the small arrow at the bottom of the activities list.) Click on the Needs Media icon and the popup will tell you which tape member should be inserted.
