IT_Guy_12
I'm having an issue sending e-mail notifications from out backup server to our e-mail relay. We are currently using Retrospect version 7.7.620 (Multi-Server) and I have checked all required information for e-mail preferences, but when I select Send Test E-Mail, it will fail with the following error: E-mail notification failed: error -541 ( backup client not installed or not running) The backup software is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 and our e-mail relay is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with postfix installed\configured. I have been able to send other e-mail notifications through this relay without issue. Any ideas?
Lennart_T
Sometimes the test emails fail, but the real ones work, provided everything is properly set up. Do you use a non-standard port for SMTP? (Other than 25)
jkk
Just to be a good doobie and followup - the problem was with the mail server I was accessing. After 1 month of queries, that finally confessed.
