david.blaymires
I have a Mac Book Pro, Retina display running Mac OS X 10.8.2 and had transferred the account from a 17" MacBook Pro so the Retrospect Client v6.3.029 application was transferred at the same time. It has worked fine for months against Retrospect for Windows Multiserver v7.6, where it is backed up by a Proactive script. As my old computer was put into service with someone else, I ended up with a clash when administering the clients, so I ended up trashing the client on my new MacBook Pro Retina. I installed the Remote client v6.3.029 on the MBP Retina, but when I opened the Retrospect Remote app, it said there was a problem initiating the client. What I found was the file "/Library/Preferences/retroclient.state" needed to be deleted, and then I could start up the Remote Client and provide the password. I then configured it as a new client in Retrospect v7.6 and added it to the Proactive Script. Now it is all working perfectly. I trust this information helps someone else when they face a similar situation. Regards, David
